The Reasons Why You Should Never Stop Learning

You probably already read my blog about how the education system is not that good. Another thing that I don’t like about school is that it’s been marketed to us that we can’t learn without it. You can go to school, but once school is over, you’re somehow finished with learning. The truth is, you never have to stop learning. We aren’t perfect beings. The fact that you have 25 years of experience doing whatever that you do, doesn’t mean you know everything. We have to continuously learn to be successful.

Practice Makes Happiness

Self-growth can improve happiness. We tend to do the same thing day in and day out. Learning a new skill becomes difficult because the definition of learning means that you’ve never done it before. It may take you out of your comfort zone, but there is no greater feeling than the sense of accomplishment. Imagine trying to learn a song on the piano. It takes time, effort, and practice. Once you get through the song once with no errors, a sense of bliss fills the air. The more ambitious goals we set, the happier we are. There’s nothing like looking at success after the blood, sweat and tears of practice.

A Greater Team Asset

Adaptability is a great asset. Things change, but the status quo doesn’t. The status quo is easy. If you know better because you put the work in to get better, then you’re going to be a great asset to your team and the company. You can’t do the job you were hired to do. It would be easy to replace you if you regulate your job to the description you applied for.

You Know that You Don’t Know

Continuously learning gives you the humble opinion that you don’t know everything. People who learn don’t pretend to be smart. If anything, they make others look smart because they are constantly trying to gain new information. A person who sees everyone as the expert becomes a way more likeable person.

The Student Becomes the Teacher

The biggest benefit of learning is to be able to take that new knowledge and pass it on. One of the greatest feelings in the world is teaching someone something new. See how their face sparkles when they figure out something they couldn’t do. The ability to teach gives you a true form of leadership.
