In this part of the step, cut your natural nails to the length that you are comfortable with, with the help of a nail clipper. Make sure that the nails are not cut too short otherwise the acrylic nails will not be able to fit. Now, file the nails to rid them of sharp and uneven edges. With the same file, buff the top surface of the nails to rid them of their shine so that acrylic nails can stick easily.

Apply pressure for 10 seconds so that the acrylic is in place firmly. Make sure to not touch the part where the acrylic nail meets the natural nail so as to not mess up the glue.

After successfully applying the acrylic nails, file the edges and tips to avoid sharp and rough edges.  This is also done as the acrylics will be very raised in appearance right now.
