How Shifting My Beliefs About Fear and Loss Changed My Life
The belief structure currently keeping me from my potential is the idea of losing or negativity. I’ve grown up in a world that promotes the idea of winners and losers, good and bad, fulfillment and risk. What if the latter of all these things are not real but incomplete perceptions?
I’ve been trying to start some projects or companies for a long. I’ve yet to be successful in monetizing any of it. I currently write here because I want to start to monetize my writing. There’s this unwritten rule that to earn money, you must spend money. This rule is easily accepted by someone who’s always been around money and isn’t afraid to lose it. For someone like me who knows how it feels to live, check to check. Investing in something when I don’t know if it’ll work isn’t easy.
Any sense of loss we feel is due to an incomplete understanding and acceptance of the nature of our life

I’ve also realized that my perception of loss is limited if this rule is universal. What is there to lose if I’m pouring the money into myself? What if I’m too attached to the outcome to realize that I need to bet on myself in what I perceive to be a gamble? There’s this fear of the unknown, but I think this should also be complemented with trust. If I’m too fearful, I lean on only one pendulum side. I can feel fear but also put trust in what I cannot perceive. If I’ve already perceived failure, then I’ve already lost.
What is Faith?
In this, I must remember that there is no such thing as loss because gain also exists. Gain and loss aren’t two different things. If I cannot see the gain, I can trust that my perception is limited and that the gain is somewhere for me. I don’t have to focus on one side of the spectrum. I believe that this is the definition of faith that isn’t taught in mainstream religion. If I only perceive that one outcome can occur, I can believe that the opposite can also occur because they are one and the same. Again, positivity and negativity aren’t different. Negativity is only the absence of positivity. Believing in the absence of something is like believing in nothing at all.
I have many ideas which I don’t act upon because I’m afraid of their outcome. This is a mistake. I have no control over the outcome, but positivity can happen. It’s not that I expect the outcome, but I can have hope for positivity even if the outcome doesn’t go my way. My only response to the idea is to act, and I have to cooperate with the Unknown to make it possible. I have to collaborate with what I don’t know in hopes that my Partner has my back. If I trust my Partner, I know He has my back regardless of the outcome. If I believe this to be true, how could I ever lose?
